About

A directory built on sources.

Choosing a school is a decision families live with for years. The least we can do is be honest about where our information comes from.

Where listings come from

Every listing begins with an official source. In the United Kingdom that is Get Information about Schools, the Department for Education's statutory register, which gives us the school's legal name, address, phase, age range, intake and roll. OpenStreetMap fills in map positions and, occasionally, a website we did not have.

Why some fields are missing

Each fact we hold is stored with the source it came from and a confidence score. A detail appears on a school's page only when a verified source backs it for that specific school. If we do not have it, we leave it out. We never estimate a fee, infer an exam result, or fill a gap with something that merely sounds plausible.

Where two sources disagree, the more authoritative one wins — a community map edit cannot overwrite the statutory register, though it can fill a gap the register left.

What we do not publish

We publish role contact addresses only, such as an admissions or school office address. We do not publish the personal contact details of named staff, even where a public register includes them.

Getting something corrected

Schools can claim their listing and correct it directly, free. A school's own information takes priority over every other source. Any school can also ask to be removed entirely.
